From theory to precision modelling of strong-field QED in the transition regime

Abstract The combination of energetic electron beams, delivered from conventional accelerators at a high repetition rate, and ultraintense lasers, makes it possible to perform precision measurements strong-field QED. LUXE collaboration aims nonlinear Compton scattering Breit-Wheeler pair creation in the transition perturbative nonperturbative regimes. Here we present an overview recent developments modelling QED processes, which are needed reach required few percent for intensity parameters 0.1 < ? 10. We discuss how go plane-wave results numerical simulations predicted signals error estimates.
